You gentlemen are most likely:

A ) uploading/using formats that are NOT supported by DoD

B ) uploading/using incorrect formats

The BEST/IDEAL format/size is a .vtf image, NO LARGER than 256x256.

Wondering where to find .vtf images? You have to use a plugin that is available for most photo-editing software around. If you're interested in using the .png .jpg .bmp .gif formats - your sprays will look a LOT less clear, and far more pixelated. Text will be hard to read.

If you guys need further instruction on how to properly go about installing sprays, feel free to hit the quartermaster forums and check out my instructions.

See below:

STEP 1:

You download the .vtf file from the link above.

Find the file you downloaded - and right click on it

Select -> COPY

STEP 2:

Open up the Start menu and click on Computer, or click on 'My Computer' on your desktop

Open the folder called 'Program Files'

Open the folder called 'Steam' (or might be called Valve)

Open the folder called 'Steam Apps'

Open the folder that has your account name on it

Open the folder called 'day of defeat source'

Open the folder called 'dod'

Open the folder called 'materials'

Open the folder called 'VGUI' (if you don't see this folder, jump to the 'OPTIONAL STEPS' below)

Open the folder called 'logos'

Right click on an empty space in the folder

Select "PASTE"

and the .vtf file will be placed in the logos folder.

Open the folder called 'UI'

Right click on an empty space in the folder

Select "PASTE"

and the .vtf file will be placed in the UI folder.

You are almost done!

STEP 3:

Start up day of defeat, but do not enter a server.

Select Options

Select Multiplayer tab

Click 'Import Spray'

Find the 'logos' folder where you pasted the .vtf in the steps above

Select your spray - click 'OK'

Click 'Apply' or 'OK'

Enter your favorite server, spray on the first wall you see and enjoy.

OPTIONAL STEPS:

****If you are following the directions above and do not see a folder called 'VGUI' - follow these steps****

**When done with these steps, continue to step 3**

Right click on any empty space in the 'materials' folder

Select "New" and select "Folder" from the list

Rename the new folder 'VGUI'

Open the new folder called 'VGUI'

Right click on any empty space in the 'VGUI' folder (it should be empty at this point)

Select "New" and select "Folder" from the list

Rename the new folder 'logos'

Open the new folder called 'logos'

Right click on an empty space in the folder

Select "PASTE"

and the .vtf file will be placed in the logos folder.

Right click on any empty space in the 'logos' folder (it should be empty at this point)

Select "New" and select "Folder" from the list

Rename the new folder 'UI'

Open the new folder called 'UI'

Right click on an empty space in the folder

Good post Goodwin... But I already tried all that. Its only for my DOD tho. Sprays work fine in CSS and L4D2.

EDIT: I uninstalled and then reinstalled DoD:S and it works fine. Crazy
