If you or anyone sees him, have him grab me in vent. I'll walk him through what I would recommend. Since he has run some scans and removed Malware, I am willing to bet it is a BHO that respawns it every time he opens a browser. He needs malwarebytes (www.malwarebytes.org). I can walk him through it, but that's only if I see him.

I have already dl'd and installed Malware Bytes. it was the first program i used to scan my system followed by Spybot S&D and now Windows Essential, I run at least one of those three daily to see if anything is recurring and so far it has not picked up anything in the same root folders after being deleted previously, or any malware at all in the last two weeks.

I would love to hop on vent but my internet connection is to crappy for VOIP most the time and I left my Mic in Sacramento again lol.

However on a positive note I went through and uninstalled Windows Live One Care and McCaffey from my computer and that helped to drop my ping to mostly reasonable levels even in game. Unfortunately I am still sitting usually upwards of 200 with peaks at 1250 lasting for upwards of 15 minutes sometimes. My ISP is Qwest Communications and they say that they are aware of some problems with their servers and complaints of slow internet for several weeks now and I am just trying to figure out if there is anything more that I can do client side, we have an OS disc but my mom's new husband is hesitant to use it even though i have backed up their games and photo's onto my external drive lol. So if it seems that this is a lost cause for this computer feel free to let me know lol.

I had Bullock post this up cuz looking through the forums list for some reason I couldn't find the office lol *facepalm*

Is it ping just to games, or everywhere? If you can give me a ballpark of where its at, we can get somewhere.

Also, if you can run hijackthis, and post up the logfile you get, it would help immensely.

Hijack This!

It will look like this, but longer:

Uninstall from the program manager anything that is ask.com or ask toolbar related. Also, if you can find anything from dealio.

Next, try to remove it through hijack this. You may need to go to Safe Mode to do this. Also delete anything where the file is "missing." Remove anything from eAcceleration or StopSign.

If Hijack this doesn't get us there, I'll find you a tutorial with specialized programs that can unhook them for you.

Side note: after running this and rebooting I noticed quite a few CPU spikes in a row, first run through i had to reset what it had done to fix it and then after that i re-ran it and it worked fine (i think i accidently checked the wrong file/s the first time, prolly a win32.dll) but like i said cpu spikes and while i was looking into those mem usage spikes. although running vista on 1gb of ram will do that so it may be unrelated but it was the first time i've ever seen physical mem reach 100%

I am very opposed to Stop Sign. Here is some dialog on Stop Sign. Its pretty much a scam. Its also another AV product, so it will conflict with MSE.

http://www.mcse.ms/message956302.html

You want to uninstall it, and then remove all of these. Again, you may need safe mode to do so.
