". . . Mc-.. McGeough! Wake up god damn!", Yelled Sgt. Gooderham. Mcgeough eyes slowly focused on the fire, and rubble around him. He watched as Gooderham and Brown pull Jones from under rubble of the helicopter, and eventually snapping back into reality reaching for his weapon that was smashed to scrap metal. "Here!", Yelled Pvt. Kim tossing him the pilots side arm. He shook his head catching the revolver checking to see how many bullets he had. He placed his hand on the platform of the helicopter pushing himself out of the rubble placing the revolver in his holster. "Answer! We are down, and need E-Vac! NOW!", Yelled Gooderham at the broken radio. Mcgeough looks over to Brown who is fiddling with his M60 that seemed broken while Kim tended Cpl. Jones. "How do you feel Jones..?", Said Kim. "I need a damn cigaret..", Groaned Jones.. "Gather your shit boys we need to get moving.", Said Gooderham as he helped Kim pull up Jones. Brown stood up throwing the strap for his M60 around his shoulder checking the magazine for his side arm, and holsters it nodding to Gooderham. With Jones held over Kim's shoulder it slowed down the squad as they moved through the dense jungles. Mcgeough noticed Kim struggling, so he assists him by helping him hold Jones nodding at Kim smiling. Gooderham puts his hand in the halt motion as the squad swiftly sets a protective perimeter as sounds in the distant jungle are heard. "No!", Yelled Mcgeough as two Vietcong soldiers came running out of the brush. He quickly slid out his revolver taking two shots of them hitting both in the chest while Gooderham cleaned them up with his Car-15. Kim through Jones over his shoulder as the squad began sprinting through the thick jungle until slowly stopping at a rice paddy.

"McGeough get your ass up here.", Whispered Sgt. Gooderham. "Yes si-.. I need you to move up on the right flank while the rest of us clear left.. Got that?", Questioned Sgt. Gooderham. "Yes Si-.. Then go!", Gooderham stated. With one last deep breath McGeough placed his hand on his helmet holding it firmly on his head, and then unholstering his pistol sprinting out to the right. He quickly dove behind a mound of soil, and waved for the others to move up. As the others began to make there way to the left flank yelling broke the silence along with a echoed gun shot, and a loud yell. Jones had taken a bullet to the leg from a Vietcong sniper posted up on the top of the rice paddy. Without hesitation the Brown posted his M60 down on a mound of dirt, and opened fire on the hill suppressing the sniper while Sgt. Gooderham waved for McGeough to move up. Mcgeough foolishly stood up to quickly without checking to only be accompanied by a furious Vietcong. He was jumped on by the enemy who pulled a knife to stab him, but he quickly used the force of his legs to shove the enemy off. The Vietcong yelled running at him, but McGeough caught the enemies forearm brought it down punching the foe across the face swiftly braking the wrist holding the knife, and in one motion snatched the knife and slit the enemies throat. Blood trickled down his throat as McGeough stared terrified at the man he killed. He snapped back by the yelling of Gooderham, and run up the hill side stumbling upon a entrenched area where the sniper was posted, and went to grab his revolver, but had left it back down the hill. The sniper pulled out his side arm shooting McGeough in the right thigh, and was prepared to finish Mcgeough off until Kim stabbed the sniper in the back with Jones KA Bar Knife. The rest of the squad made there way up the rice paddy with Gooderham carrying Jones on his back like a limp noodle.

After the small encounter with the Vietcong the men where exhausted and worse injured. Jones and McGeough where both taking into the tent already set up, and lied down after the bullets were removed from their legs. "Take it easy", Kim stated to the wounded as he walked out to set up his post. "*Sigh*.. So McGeough..? Tell me a bit about yourself..", Jones questioned. "Oh, well I'm not a very interesting person Jones, but I do like cars.", replied McGeough. "Ah.. What kind of car do you drive?, Jones pondered. "Oh well I'm not ol-.. I mean I can't afford o-.." Jones interrupted, "Wait.. Did you say you aren't old enough?" Eh.. Yeah I'm only 17, but I can handle myself!", McGeough stated. Jones shook his head, and continued to converse with McGeough about how he got into the military, and why he wanted to. Outside Pvt. Brown was set up by the edge going down the hill with his M60 talking to Kim who was occupied cleaning the scope to their sniper. On the other side of the hill lied Sgt. Gooderham writing in his journal about the recent events almost in tears, but was to proud to show his emotions to the rest of the squad. In that position Gooderham layed until he doze off until the next morning being awoken from Kim who was standing with the rest of the men. Jones and McGeough felt good enough to walk by themselves, but at a slower pace then the rest. Down the hill the squad moved heading South hoping to find a safe zone.

But what they found instead, was sheer terror.

After days of traveling South with little to no supplies the squads morale began to deteriorate. "Keep up Jone!", Yelled Pvt. Brown. "Eh! You didn't take a bullet to the leg you bastard!", Argued Cpl. Jones. Brown dropped his M60 and walked hastily over to Jone getting in his face. "Who do you think you are Jones!?", Brown questioned angrily. Jones Shoved Pvt. Brown, and Brown threw a rigid punch putting Jones on his back. As soon as Jones hit the dirt Gooderham grabbed Browns arms holding them behind him while Kim aided Jones. "What the FUCK Do you think you're doing Brown!?", Gooderham yelled. "Brown replied,"We're starving Gooderham! Fuck this I'm leaving!" Brown began to walk away, and halted as he heard Gooderham load his Car-15, and aim at Brown. "Stand Down Brown, and fall back in line, or I will shoot!", Gooderham shouted. Brown shook his head, and took one step until a shot goes off in the distance, and Brown stares blankly at the rest of them. Blood began to trickle out from Browns mouth as blood started to stain his military shirt. Brown fell over, and Gooderham yelled,"Get into Cover!" Another shot was taken from the the hidden sniper as the squad all jumped into cover behind trees, but Kim took a spot behind a large rock. Brown laid motionless in the open, and slowly began to get pale worst had happened. Gooderham nodded to Mcgeough, and Mcgeough nodded back as he swiftly turned the corner of the tree sprinting towards Browns corpse jumping behind cover closer to his body as the sniper took another shot Kim quickly rolled out from the rock scoping in his sniper searching for the enemy. Pvt. Kim slowly caught a glimpse of brush being moved around out in the distance, and saw a figure stand up holding binoculars, and took the shot dropping the man, and quickly taken cover behind the rock again. "Is it clear?", Gooderham questioned. No one was sure, but it wasn't worth sitting there, so Gooderham quickly jumped from cover sprinting to another tree unharmed, but thankfully the man who was killed was the foolish sniper, and the squad was safe for now.
